A look ahead to the next issue of hidden europe.
Company towns are always interesting spots - places where corporate interests are woven into the very social fabric of a community. We explored a couple in 2006 when we reported from the arctic archipelago of Svalbard (Spitsbergen). We shall return to the Arctic region in our next issue, this time to Russia, to explore a company town that offers a striking mixture of urban elegance and environmental dereliction. In addition, we shall offer some insights into the complex cultural mosaic that is the Vojvodina region in northern Serbia. And, ever anxious to ensure a good geographical balance, we shall report on life in one of Scotland's most isolated communities. hidden europe 13 will be published on Monday 5 March 2007.
